Feudal Government

Although much of the kingdom is held directly from the Crown, five Dukes hold vast portions of the kingdom. Four of these have further subfeudinated their lands to Earls or Barons. In addition, several Earls and Barons hold their lands directly from the Crown.

In the individual listings below, subfeudination below the level of Baron is not listed. All great Lords have landed knights at their call.

Royal Domain

The King's ArmsIn addition to the great Dukes listed below, the following feudal lords owe allegiance directly to the King.

Bapar, Duchy of

Arms - BaparRich, sprawling duchy on the western frontier. Its capital, the ancient and mysterious city of Fangaerie, is second only to the King’s city of Kisar in population and wealth.

The Duke himself is one of the richest men in the kingdom, and his power rivals that of the King. Two of his vassals, the Earls of Reyifor and Taria, are great lords in their own right.

The Royal House originated in Bapar about two centuries ago, and the current Duke of Bapar is a distant kinsman of the King.

Cambenet, Duchy of

Arms - CambenetBleak northern Duchy centered on the castle of Cameliar and containing the infamous Chartered Freetown of Lambor.

  • Ketter (Earldom – includes town of Nene)

Silver Hills, Duchy of the

Arms - Silver HillsDwarven Duchy located in the northwestern corner of the kingdom, in and around the Silver Hills. Rich in metals and stone, the Duchy imports much of its food and cloth.

Subfeudination: None.

Other Settlements: Azar Khim (keep), Grom (Dwarfhold), Kor Doral (Dwarfhold), Kor Narid (Dwarfhold), Markihm (keep).

Sinadon, Duchy Palatinate of

Arms - SinadonThe Palatinate of Sinadon is almost a realm within a realm. The Duke of Sinadon holds courts, appoints sheriffs for Magounshire and Devennshire, and runs a chancery just as the king does.

Tanelorne, Duchy of

Arms - TanelorneWealthy agricultural Duchy in the west. The Duchy produces grain, wool, cattle, and beer for export. The Duke’s sophisticated court at Herester is the envy of the kingdom’s nobility.

  • Gomeret (Chartered Freetown)
  • Marthen (Earldom – includes Abrennen Keep)
