What will it be like to become a card-carrying member of the Dumbarton Oaks Experience? After posing this question to the group on our latest adventure (collecting rat tails for cash in sewers, meeting the inhabitants of the Hall of Hobos, and losing Rue to an unexpected centipede attack), I find myself wondering if the group will vote me in, and if so, what this will mean for me and Selden (aka, my oaf).

I think after Selden’s valiant role as a human shield on our last adventure, the group will most likely vote him in as a member – even if it is just out of pity. The poor thing literally didn’t know what hit him. But me? I try to keep up with the group, and keep my wits about me, but this is a whole new world from where I was...

The Dumbarton Oaks Experience arrived at the Murky Badger in the middle of a grand celebration – the sixth birthday of one of the many granddaughters of the proprietor, Master Mongo Foxburr, Esq...

They grow up so fast. 🙂

It was a watershed day for all our recent companions, I’ll wager. Sure, you take some stuff, you get in a fight. You think your an adventurer. And then you end up on a real quest, and dive into effort and danger you had never imagined. All in the span of hours, or minutes!

We must’ve hiked for miles to even get to the enemy camp, and killed a bear to even get there. We silently took to kobolds scouting for food, and turned them. We made a plan of attack. And we killed a bunch of enemy fighters.

By the end of the day, I was spent. Sure, I had two or three tricks left, but they were all pissant. The kids closed this one on their own. They learned they can do some serious damage when they all work together.

The townspeople seemed quite grateful...
