Torhalla In Training

Great Bear, oh wise and wonderful protector, giver of strength and a stout heart. I pray first, for The Dumbarton Oakes Experience. Protect us, give us honor and strength. I pray too, as always, to you for your protection and strength and for those who of my tribe survived. I hold faith. Faith that I will be among them again… So that I might kill the honorless ones that sold me into slavery. Great Bear, this I still pray. Unceasingly. Every. Single. Day. I keep my sword sharpened to the task.

The friend they call Sweet Doreen has joined up with us. She is a mighty halfling. I would not mess with her. But I think Fenkeh is growing sweet on her. That’s so cute.  Maybe he’ll think about that the next time he tries to stuff half a chicken in his mouth.

We have been adventuring for a long time now and killed many things including a small castle. I still can’t get over that.

Report on Ulric, the brave wolf pup, Great Bear. I have purchased a proper harness for him, now that he has grown past the size where I may carry him easily. Besides, he frightens people in town and we cannot have that. On the road, sure, but in town where we expect to eat and get served on in stores, that’s not good.

We received recognition and Graytar a wizard, and you know how I feel about wizards, has extended his reach whereas we have been given a commission by the local Chieftan. He is called Earl. His daughter, by a nefarious means, has been kidnapped. Not the kidnapping, the daughter part. She is a daughter by a woman that is not his wife. In this society, this is not unusual but then, Earl’s wife is not so nice so I guess we cannot blame him for seeking solace and company in another woman’s bed. In any case, he prefers this Alimira. I hope she is not a simpering wimp.

We must find a means to locate her and rescue her. If we do this, we will be paid handsomely. This is good because we have a lot of catching up to do, now that we’ve spent a chunk of money on our training. But, as a result, I feel stronger, wiser, more capable than before.
