Torhalla’s Prayer #8

by Tørhalla Ulricsdøttìr

Great Bear, oh wise and wonderful protector, giver of strength and a stout heart. I pray first, for The Dumbarton Oakes Experience. Protect us, give us honor and strength. I pray too, as always, to you for your protection and strength and for those who of my tribe survived. I hold faith. Faith that I will be among them again… So that I might kill the honorless ones that sold me into slavery. Great Bear, this I still pray. Unceasingly. Every. Single. Day. I keep my sword sharpened to the task.

Ok that was nuts. And the smell! I’m really starting to hate those nasty little goblins. Like a lot. Maybe even worse than spiders. Remember, we were contracted by the local chieftan to get his illegitimate daughter away from kidnappers.

With much stealth and guile we followed a man into the woods...

The friend they call Sweet Doreen has joined up with us. She is a mighty halfling. I would not mess with her. But I think Fenkeh is growing sweet on her. That’s so cute.  Maybe he’ll think about that the next time he tries to stuff half a chicken in his mouth.

We have been ...

I keep my sword sharpened to the task.

Helpless and alone...

Helpless and alone…

Today was a good day. I killed things.

Also… ALL PRAISE AND HONOR to YOU! I have a wolf pup! For now I call him Dog but it is because I do not want others to know I have named him for my brother and father, Ulric...

I am a badass.

I am a badass.

We have become famous, I think. In a good way, of course. For we are gaining a reputation for being great warriors who fight with honor. We are becoming known as those that can be trusted to fulfill a task once contracted. Please let nobody find out about the castle we sunk...

There are others now, that have joined Fenkeh and I in our adventures. There is one named Nurther Skye. He is a healer of a gentle god’s healing favor. There is a very snooty female half elf named Nynevah, she is also a healer, and is one of Dumbarton and the Great Warrior Kaaaylaan’s friends...

I hold faith. Faith that I will be among them again… So that I might kill the honorless ones that sold me into slavery. Great Bear, this I still pray. Unceasingly. Every. Single. Day. Today I met a great warrior. He is the whitest man I’ve ever laid eyes on. Great Bear! He is MIGHTY! He travels with a tiny little fluttery thing called a pixie fairy and whose name is Dumbarton. Dumbarton, for his small size, can talk a blue streak. I have never encountered two quite like them. At first they were very confused. As time went on, and a lot of food was consumed...

[Some Months Ago]

Great Bear, oh wise and wonderful protector, giver of strength and a stout heart. I pray first, as always, to you for your protection and strength and for those who of my tribe survived. I hold faith. Faith that I will be among them again… So that I might kill the honorless ones that sold me into slavery. Great Bear, this I still pray. Unceasingly. Every. Single. Day. As you know, I have agreed to join Fenkeh or perhaps he has agreed to join me? I still am unsure of which of us is leading in this eagerness to see the world. I know it is Fenkeh that feeds it. I have promised to watch him, it is my honor at stake should something befall my stout friend. I have a plan, however, for that porky fellow...

Torhalla’s Prayer #1

by Tørhalla Ulricsdøttìr

[Many many months ago]

Great Bear, oh wise and wonderful protector, giver of strength and a stout heart. I pray first, as always, to you for your protection and strength and for those who of my tribe survived. They are a long way away, and I do not know when I will ever be able to return to them. I hold faith. Faith that I will be among them again… So that I might kill the honorless ones that sold me into slavery. Great Bear, this I still pray. Unceasingly. Every. Single. Day. I keep my sword sharpened to the task.

As you know, because you see all, my master has died and I have been wandering. But I have no paper upon which to write nor do I feel I have enough words and so I think that I must carry on through conversations with you, O Great Protector.

I confide, I have felt restless and w...
